Throughout the 2024 presidential election season, breaking news continues to drop one day after the other – such as Trump’s attempted assassination and Kamala Harris running for the Democratic nomination after Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

However, another jaw-dropping element of this upcoming election is gaining less momentum in the midst of the rest of the election – and that’s Project 2025.

Written by conservatives with the intent to serve as a 180 day guideline for the next conservative president (potentially Donald Trump), Project 2025 delineates an extensive plan to overhaul the U.S. government and implement conservative and faith-based values nationwide.

👉 In this article, we’ll explain what Project 2025 is, what the effects of Project 2025 would be, and summarise the 922 page document.

What is Project 2025?

Drafted by the Heritage Foundation, Project 2025 is a 922 page document which outlines the goals and promises for the first 180 days of a conservative presidency.

💡The Heritage Fund has denied climate change for decades, and was even a member of Cooler Heads Coalition (CHC) – which remains as the longest standing association against the notion of climate change.

Project 2025 relies heavily on the Unitary Executive Theory – which is a component of the constitution that illustrates the need for all of us to abide by the president and the president only… otherwise known as a dictatorship.

what is project 2025?

While Trump claimed to not know anything about Project 2025 in a recent campaign event in Michigan, if elected and inaugurated into office in 2025 – Trump is likely to use Project 2025 as a guideline. One of the main motifs of Project 2025 is that all efforts should support U.S. economic growth, and if it doesn’t – it should not be supported, and these ideals are in line with much of Trump’s values.

“This book, this agenda, the entire Project 2025 is a plan to unite the conservative movement and the American people against elite rule and woke culture warriors." – Authors of Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise.

👉 Overall, Project 2025 would change several constitutional elements that weave the fabric of the United States as a whole – making it imperative for everyone to understand the potential implications of Project 2025.

Now that Trump is President, will Project 2025 happen?

As stated at the start of the 922 page document, the next acting Republican president is meant to employ Project 2025 at the beginning of their next term – meaning Trump would be obliged to implement the protocols depicted in Project 2025 starting in January.

Throughout the campaign, Trump denied having anything to do with Project 2025 – and even said in the presidential debate with Kamala Harris that he would not sign a national abortion act into law. However, ironically, his Vice President-elect, J.D. Vance – wrote the forward for Project 2025.

Women across the country are making an effort to rebel against the imminent Project 2025, with the 4B movement previously used in South Korea sweeping across Tik Tok and Twitter – as minorities in the country fear that Project 2025 will strip them of their bodily rights.

👉 Ultimately, now that J.D. Vance and Trump have been elected – it is highly probable that they will hire their presidential staff to help them achieve the goals and actions written in Project 2025.

The 4 Promises of Project 2025

In addition to the five main sections of Project 2025, the Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise is built upon four main promises.

Promise 1: Restore family values and protect children

  • Conservatives don’t want children out of wedlock or unmarried mothers
  • Eliminate marriage penalties
  • Eradicate terms such as sexual orientation, gender identity, DEI
  • Stop teaching critical race theory or gender ideology in schools (building on what Ron Desantis did in the state of Florida)

Promise 2: Dismantle administrative state and promote self governance of people

  • Works under the belief that congress no longer appropriately organises budgets or categorises spending on the right categories
  • Eradicate funding for programs such as the EPA as it hinders domestic energy production
  • Prohibit protests for abortion, transgender, or white privilege

Promise 3: Seal the border and protect the nation

  • Sealing the border of the United States is essential to protect the nation
  • A TikTok ban will help to protect children and United States citizens from China
  • Ceasing all economic activity with China will help the United States to reclaim its economic supremacy

Promise 4: Enjoy the blessings of liberty

  • Spirituality is the most important and fulfilling form of happiness
  • Re-instill the requirement of Christian Faith into US policies

Project 2025 Broken Down Into 5 Sections

The 922 page document for Project 2025 is broken down into 5 different sections, each detailing different ways to make amendments to the current government protocols in the United States – including taking reins of the government, common defense, general welfare, the economy, and general welfare.

We’ve broken down the main points from each section of Project 2025 so you don’t have to read the entire document.

Section 1: Taking the Reins of the Government

This section of Project 2025 proposes changes to:

  • Chief of Staff
  • Deputy Chiefs of Staff
  • Principal Deputy Chiefs of Staff
  • Senior Advisors
  • Staff Secretary
  • Office of Communications
  • Office of Legislative Affairs
  • Office of Presidential Personnel
  • Office of Cabinet Affairs
  • Office of Public Liaison
  • Office of Intergovernmental Affairs
  • Office of the Vice President
  • Office of the First Lady or First Gentlemen

👉 Budget is a major concern in project 2025, and conservatives want to help the United States get out of 31 trillion dollar debt – demonstrating how both parties have a desire to avoid another debt ceiling for the country.

In regards to climate change, Section 1 of Project 2025 suggests the following amendments to government intervention for issues that pertain to global warming:

Environmental & National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)

  • New regulations should be implemented to oversee NEPA processes
  • Next conservative president should issue changes to NEPA to streamline processes
  • Unified process for infrastructure projects to avoid needing approval from NEPA, the EPA, etc.
  • End the use of Social Cost of Carbon (SCC)

💡Section 1 of Project 2025 explains the different ways to readjust the current U.S. government to ensure that the president is granted more freedom for decision making and law passing.

Section 2: The Common Defense

Section 2 of Project 2025 wants to reform bureaucracy via the following steps and recommendations:

  • Improve the ability to “hire and fire” managers faster
  • Improve management for personnel and political appointees to address bureaucratic inefficiency
  • Align civil service benefits to market standards
  • Adjust current retirement benefits

💡 In addition to this, Section 2 of Project 2025 pontificates the importance of providing more to the “young and patriotic” Americans who have served the country – meaning that the current benefits need to be improved in order to thank them for their service.

“Military service is the most difficult task we ask of our citizens, and our nation is enormously blessed that so many young, patriotic Americans eagerly volunteer to carry such a heavy burden. We owe them everything, and we must do better.” – Authors of Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise

4 main principles for common defense

This will be done by abiding by 4 main priorities:

  1. Priority #1: Reestablish a culture of command accountability – This refers to implementing a culture based on command accountability and on the importance to build our national defense system for future wars.
  2. Priority #2: Transform our armed forces to be the best – In the midst of several nations trying to prove themselves as the most powerful nation in the world, making sure our defense system is top tier is pivotal.
  3. Priority #3: Provide support to the Department of Homeland – Border protection is essential to improve our national security, meaning that all funding available to invest in this issue is imperative.
  4. Priority #4: Financial transparency & accountability – The authors of Project 2025 want to

rebuild the arm and increase spending and budget if necessary – such as by increasing the Air Force budget by 5% each year and changing the U.S. missile defense policy. This will require honesty in how much is currently being invested into our military systems in order to allocate the appropriate amount of money moving forward.

Additional adjustments under Section 2 of Project 2025

Department of Homeland Security

  • TSA should become privatized
  • FEMA should be combed with the CISA
  • The secret should be divided into two parts
  • Despite having been created following the tragic events of 9/11, Project 2025 claims that our current budget for homeland security is bloated, bureaucratic, and too expensive – meaning that cuts should be made accordingly.

Elements to shift our focus on under Project 2025 would include:

  • Ensure a sealed border
  • Protecting political leaders
  • Prioritise economic zones
  • Safeguard transportation security
  • Eradicate T and U visas to prevent undocumented immigrants
  • Encourage ICE to take custody of all foreigners with DUIs, previous violence, or crime
  • Overall stronger emphasis on border control

Amendments to the Media

Project 2025 believes that our current media continues to perpetuate unrealistic images of what an ideal America should look like.

Adjustments to be made would include:

  • Revise intelligence to address threats to the US in cyberspace
  • Boosting the private sector
  • Improve journalist security by providing 700 million dollars a year for journalists both oversees and working from U.S. soil
  • Cut off budgeting for CPB (Corporation for Public Broadcasting)
  • Overall funding and possibly shutting down entire broadcasts that don’t address conservative POVs

👉 According to Project 2025, programs such as NPR “don’t even bother to run programming that would attract conservatives” and as their audiences are mostly liberals – and programs such as these should be taken off the air entirely.

Other elements discussed in Section 2 of Project 2025 include:

  • The need for holistic health care, and a strong emphasis against the term “abortion”, but avoiding child and women mortality as it is essentially a women’s duty to have babies and take care of them
  • Increase USAID collab with faith-based organisations

💡 Section 2 of Project 2025 focuses on working to eradicate DEI, gender equality to women, children, and families – essentially, an effort to return to “the old times”. In addition to this, Project 2025 seeks to eradicate “the gross misuse of foreign aid” that hinders US reputation in any way.

Section 3: General Welfare

Section 3 of Project 2025 discusses the changes to be made regarding women’s healthcare, DEI, and LGBTQ+ rights in addition to our current agricultural practices, energy ideologies, and funding for education systems.

Here is Section 3 of Project 2025 broken down into various parts:

Women’s Healthcare, DEI, and LGBTQ+

  • Abortion should not be considered a form of healthcare
  • Reverse Biden focus on LGBTQ+
  • Replace with marriage, worth, motherhood, fatherhood, families – essentially ensuring no children are had out of wedlock

Agriculture

Project 2025 wants to stop putting climate change ahead of agricultural needs, and instead remove obstacles that slow down the quantity of food production.

💡 In other words, the environment shouldn’t come before food production as a whole as financial gain is what should remain most important.

Recommendations and ideologies of this section of Project 2025 include:

  • Reverse climate smart farming tactics
  • Remove U.S. from UN guided principles for food production
  • Meeting food needs of Americans trumps the environment’s needs
  • Repeal ARC and PLC programs as funding farmers that lose crops from climate change is a waste of money as it depletes government funding
  • Reduce the subsidy rate for crop insurance

Education

Project 2025 wants to cut spending on K-12 education, and holds a general belief that Pell Grants, HEA, and ESEA have proved useless and a waste of money for the U.S. Government.

Recommendations and ideologies of this section of Project 2025 include:

  • Eliminate programs at OESE
  • Project 2025 wants to track exactly how many dollars are used in the classroom via a report
  • Remove trust in American Bar Association (ABA)
  • Remove PLUS loan program
  • End student loan forgiveness to “save taxpayers” $370 billion USD per year
  • Eliminate GEAR-UP
  • Employ a department of education reorganisation act to roll back: Preschool Grants for Children with Disabilities, Sex Ed Programs, and Charter School Grants

Energy

According to the ideals depicted in Project 2025, energy is essential to American quality of life (think A/C and comfort of the people over the planet).

Recommendations and ideologies of this section of Project 2025 include:

  • Extreme green policies should be eradicated
  • Promote energy economic opportunities above
  • Develop new nuclear reactors despite controversy over climate change impact
  • Use energy to assist allies and remain the most resourceful nation in the world
  • Focus natural gas and oil power grids and their current threats to protect its financial lucrative nature
  • Secure national power grid security
  • Remove FECM, rename it if it can’t removed
  • Remove EERE and reduce funding
  • Remove OECD and reduce efforts for carbon capture and storage and clean energy
  • Stop “climate reparations” and focus on energy production
  • Scale back EPA as it has costed jobs in the coal, oil and natural gas energy sector
  • Alter the department of labor, health and human services, transportation, veterans affairs, and urban development

💡Section 3 of Project 2025 focuses on shifting funding to more important aspects of our country to ensure we remain a top nation – but also means that essential funding such as the money currently allocated to education would be cut.

Section 4:  The Economy

Section 4 of Project 2025 discusses ways in which the U.S. economy should be reformed, especially in order to avoid China from becoming the world’s most globally recognised economic powerhouse

Here are some of the recommendations to alter the economy in Section 4 of Project 2025:

  • Stronger trade enforcement requirements especially with China
  • Use AI to avoid bad actors from infiltrating the trade system
  • Track or ban ads like WeChat and TikTok to disassociate from China
  • Destroy NOAA as it uses more than half (6.5 of 12 million USD) of budget
  • End NOS, OAR, NESDIS, NMFS, and NOAA Corps
  • Leverage technology, improve cyber security to improve financial management
  • Prioritise Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP)
  • Use ICTS to prevent natural security threats and protect the economy
  • Reverse “equity” and “climate change” established by Biden administration to focus on economic growth and stability
  • Repeal all tax initiatives such as the Inflation Reduction Act
  • Address geopolitical threat from China
  • Revise Dodd Frank
  • Reverse “Equity” agenda for the sake of the economy
  • Abolish the EXIM Export Import Bank the US as it doesn’t create jobs or promote exports
  • Match up to China’s economic efforts
  • Remove the dual mandate for the Federal Reserve and
  • Refrain from paying interest on excess reserves
  • Adjust trade import and export rates to refrain the US from losing money on current trading relationships
  • Adjust the SBA (Small Business Association) to end direct lending, employ latest technology to avoid spending, and ensure they receive support from other sectors to avid government spending

💡This will be done by asking congress to approve of Section 7(a) loans to help facilities upgrade their equipment and creating a SMB fund to ensure credit is not depleted from other sources intended to help larger business and the US economy to flourish.

One of the main goals of Section 4 of Project 2025 is to ensure that China does not exceed the United States in terms of economic growth and development.

Under Project 2025, this will be accomplished by:

  • Prohibiting U.S.pension funds from Chinese stocks
  • Avoiding Hong Kong as a transit point for American capital
  • Banning Chinese social media apps such as TikTok to protect data
  • Providing tax incentives to American companies in hopes to persuade them to avoid onshore production in China
  • Expanding tariffs on “Made in China” products

As a whole, Section 4 of Project 2025 operates on the belief that economic growth and technological advance will fight climate change, meaning that there is less need for climate-related financial risk concern.

👉 Overall, Section 4 pontificates how it is most important to ensure that China does not succeed in its quest for world domination –  as the U.S. “owns” that title. Therefore, it is essential to provide overall tariff relief  and to strengthen American manufacturing to ensure a robust economy under Project 2025.

Section 5: Independent Regulatory Agencies

Lastly, Section 5 of Project 2025 focuses on the amendments to be made to independent regulatory agencies such as SEC, FTCA, and the FEC.

Amendments to be made under Section 5 of Project 2025 to each regulatory agency include but are not limited to the following suggestions:

SEC

  • Adjusting the SEC and Congress for scaled disclosure requirements and to achieve other main goals effectively
  • Removing DEI from SEC board
  • Ending Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT)
  • Ending Rule 144
  • Amending the Internal Revenue Code
  • Repealing Dodd-Frank mandated disclosures
  • Reevaluate the purpose of CSR, ESG, and SRI

FCC

  • Refining Big Tech to ensure there is no digital divide in the US
  • Ensuring national security
  • Promote economic prosperity
  • Vouching for FCC accountability & governance
  • Stronger protections against young children on social media, especially by addressing TikTok’s threat to national security
  • Work against CCP goal to develop AI to decouple from Beijing and China
  • Boost our space programs to be number one
  • End superfluous broadband spending policies, where congress should hold agencies such as ARPA accountable
  • Promote economic prosperity
  • Vouching for FCC accountability & governance

👉 Overall, there should be stronger protections against young children on social media, especially by addressing TikTok’s threat to national security.

FTCA

  • Reform the Federal Election Commissions (FEC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTCA) to revoke ESG requirements and social responsibility agendas that could hinder profits for US businesses
  • End ESG entirely as it acts as a cover up for unfair trade practices, and congress should monitor and manage ongoing ESG practices
  • Protect children online from social media  such as by improving COPPA to ensure that children under the age of 13 stay offline (it currently fails to do this)

💡 Section 5 of Project 2025 seeks to make amendments to various independent regulatory agencies, including various media agencies, to limit free speech, independent thinking, and mitigate affiliations with China.

What are the key points to remember from Project 2025?

We understand that Project 2025 is overwhelming, so here are some of the main points to remember from Project 2025:

Key Takeaways from Project 2025

  • Eliminate the department of education for K-12 and make receiving a free or affordable education in the country virtually impossible
  • Implement a nationwide abortion ban
  • DEI, gender equality, and LGBTQ+ communities will be severely impacted and suppressed
  • Exploit natural resources for economic gain, such as in Alaska and even to capitalise on tourism in Antarctica
  • Laws will no longer need to go through congress and will be able to be passed through the president alone
  • The U.S. must stay “number 1” across all areas, and do everything in its power to ensure Chian doesn’t become the world’s greatest energy exporter or supplier
  • The main goal of Project 2025 is to help the next conservative administration achieve these goals and objectives within the first six months of holding office

👉 Essentially, Project 2025 is what christian nationalists want for the nation – otherwise referred to as christian nationalism. This would annihilate basic human rights, democracy, and the entire motto that the United States is built upon – hard work and freedom.

girl holding project 2025

How will U.S. citizens be affected if Project 2025 is implemented?

We are still a ways off from Project 2025 coming to fruition, but if it did – minorities, women, and people who consider themselves a part of the LGBTQ+ community would face serious consequences as a result of Project 2025.

This is because Project 2025 would reverse DEI policies, abortion rights, and general education on critical race theory and more – prohibiting these groups of people from being able to live freely in America.

👉 In a sense, Project 2025 is the first step to dismantling democracy in the United States – meaning that the country could shift to authoritarianism and even dictatorship if it were to be implemented.

Life in the United States would change as we know it, and the current divide between the country would never get the chance to be addressed if Project 2025 were to come to fruition – as people would have no choice but to abide by all rules and regulations implemented by the president.

As a whole, Project 2025 will weaken the middle class in the United States – making life for the majority of Americans of exceptionally difficult.

Overall, conservatives believe we need project 2025 as a plan to jumpstart economic recovery and prosperity in the country – to ensure we stay the number exporter, energy producer, and nation in the world.
However, not everyone will be aligned with the goals and amendments depicted in Project 2025 – which is why it’s important to learn about the other candidates for the presidential 2024 election and stay informed in the midst of this historic election.
